U13 Hurling

Our Fe 13 Hurlers are very busy preparing for their Semi-final League Clash against Carrigaline (date and venue tbc) and to help them prepare for this, a challenge game was organised during the week against Carrigtwohill. Killeagh/Ita’s had played Carrigtwohill already in the league and they were the only team that beat us thus denying our boys an unbeaten record, however Killeagh/Ita’s still finished top of their group having won 6 out of 7 games. Carrigtwohill made the journey to Pairc Ui Chinneide on Tuesday night last. Killeagh/Ita’s totally dominated all over the pitch and were very comfortable winners on the night on an impressive score line of 8-16 to 0-4. Ciaran O Rourke opened the scoring with a lovely goal and this set the tone for the entire game. Killeagh/Ita’s’ scored an impressive 8 goals with Ben O Connor scoring a hat-trick. Even our goalie Jamie got on the score board scoring a wonderful goal while not allowing Carrigtwohill breach our goal line. Eoin, Aaron, and Remy each scored a goal apiece also. Well done to our young hurlers, it was a wonderful display of hurling from one to nineteen with a very strong performance from all our players including our backs who held Carrigtwohill scoreless in the second half. Thanks to Paudie Kearney for officiating on the night. Keep an eye out for confirmation of the League semi-final and come out to support our boys. Team: J Fogarty (1-1), R Farquhar, B Murphy, D Doherty, D Collins, R Treacy, P Landers, P Kent (0-2), C Leahy (0-4) , B O’Connor (3-6), C Coughlan (0-3), R Bernard (1-0), T McCarthy, C O Rourke (1-0), D Coleman, Subs: E Lane, C Treacy, A Fitzgibbon (1-0), E Brenner (1-0).
